The Academy @ Shawnee counselors provide student support related to educational, academic, career and personal/social needs. While I value my role in our students’ lives in its entirety, the part I find most rewarding, is teaching students fundamental communication skills and providing character education so that they are not only equipped academically to be college and career ready upon graduation, but they are prepared behaviorally as well. To me, Academic Achievement + Character Building = Education, and my goal is to prepare students to have equitable access to goal attainment.
